Our Mission

The Science Friday Initiative seeks to increase public access to scientific information through production of the radio program Science Friday and other projects that promote a greater understanding of science and technology.

About Us

The Science Friday Initiative envisions a world where better decisions and more rewarding lives result from a greater understanding of science and technology.

Founded in 2003 by Science Friday's host/executive producer Ira Flatow, the Science Friday Initiative aims to increase public access to scientific information by producing the radio program Science Friday and creating online enrichment and educational materials such as Web videos and lesson plans.

The Science Friday Initiative engages in a variety of projects that highlight public awareness of the latest discoveries, innovations, and controversies in science.

A NOTE FROM IRA

Folks,

You’re the reason Science Friday works! The support of our donors has allowed us to enrich our coverage of science and technology news and to keep our podcasts and Web videos free. For 22 years!

I’m tremendously grateful for your generosity and look forward to many more years of Science Friday. Thank you!
