Ira Flatow

ira-picIra Flatow is currently host/executive producer of Science Friday. He anchors the news/talk show each Friday, bringing radio and Internet listeners worldwide a lively, informative discussion on all things science. Flatow is also founder and president of the Science Friday Initiative, a non-profit company dedicated to creating radio, television and Internet projects that make science user friendly, especially for young people. Flatow is the author of several books, the most recent of which, Present at the Future, includes some of his Science Friday interviews with well-known scientists, including Oliver Sacks, Jane Goodall, and the late Carl Sagan. Flatow’s many awards include the Faraday Science Communicator Award (2007) from the National Science Teachers Association. His hobbies include flying, gardening (especially orchids), tropical fish and electronic gadgets. A native of New York, Flatow now lives in Connecticut. He and his wife have three children.
